What is neurological physical therapy?

Neurological physiotherapy is an area within rehabilitation responsible for recovering the functions that may have been affected after a neurological injury.

Our brain has the potential capacity to reorganize its synaptic connections, being able to create new neuronal ramifications to compensate for the damaged areas, so that through exercise and stimulation we will be able to provide effective strategies to achieve the patient’s maximum autonomy, thus improving his quality of life and that of his family.

How do we treat neurological injuries?

Sessions are completely individualized and a treatment plan is established for each patient according to their goals and circumstances.

The therapeutic needs vary in each case but in this specialty the treatments we apply are:

  • Spasticity, tension and muscle spasms
  • Pain in the affected area
  • Imbalances
  • Difficulty in walking or performing any movements
  • Reaching, proprioception, pressure or manipulation of objects
  • Alteration of sensation in the affected area
  • Improved physical conditioning

The Clinica Sohail team will work together to help the patient acquire a greater variety of motor responses and functional skills through normalization of postural tone, modification of pathological patterns and facilitation of movement.
