Low back pain

What is low back pain?

Low back pain is pain located in the lower back, precisely in the lumbar area, caused by alterations of the different structures that form the spinal column at that level, such as ligaments, muscles, vertebral discs and vertebrae.

It may be due to muscular overexertion, poor or maintained postures, muscular imbalances or weakness or excessive tone of the paravertebral musculature.

What are the possible causes of low back pain?

  • Trauma
  • Bad postures maintained
  • Overexertion
  • Diseases of viral origin
  • Weakness or excess tone of the paravertebral musculature

Low back pain is a very common pathology in the population. Around 80% of the population suffers from it. The prognosis is usually satisfactory. See study

How do we treat it?

First of all, a global, exhaustive and complete assessment of the musculoskeletal and nervous system is carried out, and depending on the results, we evaluate which type of treatment is the most appropriate for the patient. In a cross-cutting manner, the readaptation team will carry out an intervention through therapeutic exercise

Depending on the degree of injury, and together with the application of technology such as ultrasound-guided percutaneous intratissue electrolysis (EPI), and Echoguided Percutaneous Percutaneous Neuromodulation, Shock waves, Imoove or Magnetic Resonance Therapy (MBST), we will work with a program of control exercises, global postural reeducation (RPG) and/or strength exercises.

The lumba tractionr consists of the separation of the articular surfaces and elongation of the soft parts, achieving the reduction of pressure on the nerve roots. It relieves pain associated with dysfunction of this area of the spine.
